The Ruwenzori Peace Gold Dialogue

The history of natural resources in the Great Lakes region is complex and deeply intertwined with the lives of its communities. As a company based in Goma, DRC, we have a profound understanding of these dynamics and a firm belief that the gold trade can and must be a force for stability. That is why in 2023, we launched The Ruwenzori Peace Gold Dialogue, a high-impact initiative designed to foster peace and transparent resource governance in the critical border region between Beni, DRC, and Kasese, Uganda.

This project operates in partnership with a respected local peace-building organization. We provide the funding and support for a series of cross-border dialogues that bring all key stakeholders to the same table. These professionally facilitated forums unite community leaders, artisanal miner representatives, and local authorities from both nations, creating a rare and vital platform for open communication. The goal is to address and peacefully resolve disputes over resource access and trade, building trust and establishing frameworks for collaborative, transparent commerce.

The ultimate vision of the Peace Gold Dialogue is to transform a potential source of conflict into a catalyst for shared prosperity and regional stability.
